Features of your mp4 player

When MP3s came into the market, they were a huge hit. They were small and portable, and owners could listen to all their favorite music while on the move. Now you have the MP4 player, such as iPod, with even more advanced, attractive features!

With the MP4 player (iPod), you can not only listen to your favorite songs, you can also watch your favorite movies, music videos, and TV shows, along with all your MP3 songs. It can do other things as well - you can listen to FM radio stations, you can record voice notes, and on some devices, you can even read your favorite ebooks.

Since 1993, when the MP3 technology was first introduced in to the market, it had been the most important music format. The recent introduction of the MP4 with its more compressed audio format has again changed the way digital sound is perceived. Most people might not be aware of how the MP4 differs from the MP3 and think that MP4s are more compressed and hence smaller than the audio files in the MP3 format; others assume that these two represent different technologies.

There are both common features as well as distinctions between MP3 and MP4 players. The most important point that comes to the mind when you compare the two, is that the MP4 format has properties that make up for all the shortfalls of the MP3, and the quality of perception of the files in the MP4 format is much better when compared to the MP3.

Basically, MP4 is a container. So it has the capability to carry video as well as audio files. So the basic difference is that the MP4 contains the audio and video at the same time while the MP3 format can support only the audio files. The MP4 player (iPod) allows you to realize something bigger and better than anything you can imagine. It is a new concept known as Structured Audio, and it is a mode of describing sound in the most ultra-modern way.

The MP4 technology supports a quality of sound that represents the future standard for a variety of multimedia applications, including computer music and gaming audio; hence one can think of the MP4 as the next step in the evolution of the file format that started with the MP3.

There are many types of MP4 players in the market. They are very light and have small screens of 1.2 inch, however some of them may have screens of up to 2 inches. The speakers are built inside the players and there are earphone sockets as well. It is not unusual to find OLED display characteristics. OLED produces brighter and sharper images as compared to LCD images.

A great characteristic of MP4 players (iPod) is that there are not innumerable buttons for the various commands. Only a few buttons are sufficient for the purpose. The memory is quite large at 8 GB for flash based and 100 GB in case of micro based hard drive.

The latest MP4 players (iPod) even support third party, flash memory cards, which are external... they even have USB support. Earphones and other accessories are also available with the MP4, but at times the quality may not be up to the mark.

Because of it capability of delivering both video and audio at the same time, MP4 devices (iPod) can offer an even greater range of features such as email, web browsing, instant messaging, music and video download, digital camera, bluetooth wireless technology and many more. Multiple language options and gaming capability add to its versatility. Features such as voice recording enable MP4 devices to be used not only for entertainment but also for professional purposes.

Thinking about how to purchase a domain name

In this article, you'll discover a key element of your Web site and how you can use it to drive traffic to your site from offline sources. What is this "basic element" of your site, you ask? It's your domain name - your business' virtual address.

To figure out why a business' domain name is important to its Web site's offline promotions, a little background into domain names is in order. To begin with, there are two main classes of domain names, gTLDs (general Top Level Domains) and ccTLDs (country code Top Level Domains). The seven original gTLDs are. com,.net,.org,.mil,.edu,.gov, and. int. As of the writing of this article, seven new gTLDs are in the process of being launched by ICANN, the governing body of TLDs. They are. aero,.biz,.coop,.info,.museum,.name, and. pro. The gTLDs were developed to represent specific types of entities, such as commercial organizations (.com), educational institutions (.edu), or cooperatives (.coop). The ccTLDs were developed to represent entities from specific regions, such as the United States (.us), France (.fr), or Japan (.jp).

In most cases, if you find the right registrar, you can purchase a domain name with any extension, no matter why you need the name or where you are based. Does this mean you should though? Unless you need to protect your intellectual property rights in a name, probably not. The best choice by far is a good solid "dot com". Why? Because people are familiar with it, and it's what people associate most with Internet addresses. This is very important in offline advertising, because if a potential customer sees your Web address, he or she will likely have to remember that address when it's time to pull up the old Web browser to visit the site. So generally speaking, a domain name ending in. com is most desirable for offline advertising.

Several other important issues to consider are the domain name length, use of hyphens in the domain name, and the name's overall "readability". The domain name length can have a direct impact on how effective that name is at driving traffic to a site. As you can probably imagine, the fewer the characters in a domain name, the better. The use of hyphens in a domain name can have a negative impact on a name's effectiveness, so they should be avoided if offline advertising is planned. A name's readability should also be taken into consideration when planning offline promotions. Do the words run together confusingly? Are the letters positioned in such a way that the name might be misread? If so, capitalization can be used in print to eliminate some of the confusion.

So what if you've already registered a name, and you find another name that you think would work better for offline advertising? That's simple. Register the new name, and get your host to set up an "alias" that will direct any traffic the new address receives to your existing Web site.

Musketeer management all for one and one for all

:
There’s nothing like being in a great team. It is one of life’s greatest highs and one of the real pleasures of going to work. Unfortunately, though, for many, it is a dream to be longed for rather than a daily reality. In teams that don’t click, the experience is frustrating, painful, and stressful. And for the organization that allows such teams to exist, an unproductive waste of talent.

But all that can change.

With 7 simple acts of teamwork, teams can change from being the source of our greatest anguish into being the source of our greatest joy. Here’s how.

1. Sharing. If you want to measure the strength of your team, do a sharing audit. Simply record the number of acts of team sharing in any day. That’s sharing information, sharing ideas, sharing feelings, values and needs. Or simply just sharing being together. Your score will tell you just how together your group is. The most important feature of team sharing is goal sharing. If your people don’t even share the team goal, chances are you have a bunch of individuals who happen to work near each other, not a team.

2. Asking for Help. Strong teams are strong because the individuals in it have different but complementary qualities. Sue’s a great detail person. John sees the big picture. Ron gets on with everyone. Jill is a loner. And so on. That means that when anyone has to do something they’re not particularly gifted at, they can turn to someone else in the team for help. In strong teams, you frequently hear people asking for help. In poor teams, it is considered a sign of weakness.

3. The 3 A’s. Another audit you can do to find out if you have a team or just a bunch of individuals is the 3 A’s Audit. The 3 A’s stand for Appreciating, Accepting, and Acknowledging. They are the features of great teams and stand in contrast to the 3 C’s of poor teams: Criticising, Complaining, and Condemning.

Accepting means letting people know they’re valued members of the team. Acknowledging means letting them know they belong. And appreciating means letting them know the team just wouldn’t be the same without them.

4. Valuing Others. We all need to feel important. When we are valued, we take pride in who we are and what we do.
Warren Bennis, professor of business administration at the University of Southern California, describes his campus as “a dry, crack-infested part of LA”. But, he says, every morning is a delight because the grounds of the campus are so fresh and well-kept. He adds: “It makes a big difference to me. But I wonder if anyone has reminded the gardeners of the importance of their work.”

Have you told someone in your team lately how much you value them?

5. Giving Feedback. Strong teams are defined by the amount of interaction there is between team members. When interaction is low, so is team morale. One essential type of interaction in strong teams is feedback. It can take 3 forms:
• positive feedback given by anyone in the team to someone else when they do something that benefits the whole team
• constructive feedback given by anyone in the team to help someone else in the team perform better
• requested feedback from anyone in the team when they want someone to help them with their performance.

When there is a constant exchange of these kinds of feedback, given skillfully without criticism and rancour, the team cannot help but grow and develop.

6. Building On Others. When management consultant Peter Honey explored the differences between teams and groups, he found that one of the key differences was that teams pick up on each others’ ideas and build, whereas groups don’t. This feature is also known as convergent listening. Team members are intently interested in what others have to say. Rather than let it go by without comment, they take something from it and develop it into something worthwhile.

7. A Friendly Climate. A friendly climate is the result of team morale. Morale is a state of mind that radiates confidence in people. It happens by itself when everyone feels sure of their place in the team. Nobody is anxious to prove themselves to anyone else. Nobody shows off. Nobody seeks to be better than anyone else.
When this happens, individual egos disappear, and team spirit emerges.

This isn’t Utopia. It’s reality in workplaces throughout the world. But it does have to be worked for and it does require commitment from everyone in the team. Whether you’re a team member or team leader, the results are worth that commitment.

Enhancing your backyard bird watching experience

Backyard bird watching is one of the most relaxing and inexpensive hobbies you can pursue along with your family and friends. It is both fun and educational because you can learn a great deal about your environment and survival from the various species of birds that are prevalent in your local area.

Equipment Necessary for Backyard Bird Watching

Birds are very sensitive to sound and the presence of humans so you have to maintain a safe distance so that the birds aren't frightened away. Because of this, a pair of binoculars is a must if you want to watch the birds behave in their normal manner. If you want to keep a record of the birds you see, you may want to invest in a camera with a telephoto lens as well. Having pictures will also aid you in researching the birds so that you can later look-up the species of the birds you have seen either over the Internet, or at your local library.

Most birdwatchers who take their hobby seriously also keep a journal to record the various types of birds they see. It can also be used to take notes on their different behaviors as well. It can be fascinating to go through the pages of your journal every year as you will observe some of the same birds returning to almost the exact same location at the same time of the year. After doing this for a few years, you will find yourself waiting for them and predicting the time of the year that each species of bird returns.

Attracting Birds to Your Backyard

There are many different ways in which you can attract birds to your backyard to ensure that they visit your home. One of the most common practices is to install a water fountain or birdbath where the birds can find relief from the scorching summer sun and quench their thirst. You can also provide them with a feeding place by putting a birdfeeder in your yard or hanging one from a nearby tree. You may want to experiment with different types of birdseed and food in order to learn what types of food attract various species of birds. You can also provide some nesting facilities by strategically hanging birdhouses in the trees in your yard. If you don't have trees, birdhouses that sit atop stands are available as well. You may be surprised that some of the birds may adopt your bird houses as their home and return to them every year.

Backyard bird watching can turn into a fun and enjoyable adventure for the whole family if you dedicate some time to this pursuit. You will find that you can recognize most of the different species of birds each season without having to look up their picture and description. You will also learn their behavior and habits.

Helpful Tips

When preparing for backyard bird watching, be sure that you have plenty of water and some high energy snacks available, especially if you plan to spend several hours under cover entertaining your hobby. A baseball cap or visor during the summer time and a stocking cap in winter will protect you from the sun and cold respectively. Also, during the summer, you'll want to have plenty of bug and insect repellant, as well as suntan lotion if you aren't watching the birds from a shaded area.

Birds can be fascinating creatures to observe and in time you will find yourself planning bird watching vacations, especially if your family enjoys the same backyard bird watching hobby as you do. If you've been looking for ideas on how to bring your family closer together, then you'll seriously want to consider getting them involved in bird watching.

The best time of year to visit south africa

I don’t know whether or not you have considered not only a vacation in South Africa, or even got as far as the planning stage. For most people a visit to South Africa tends to be in the middle of the European Winter, because of the attractions of blue sky and a much better temperature.

Naturally enough this is high season time in South Africa, and we should all know exactly what that means.

It of course means high prices, and crowds, two things that would put me right off.

Going to South Africa has to include at least a few days spent on Safari, so what does that mean in high season?

The first thing it means is a 40% hike in hotel room rates, and in the same vein, a substantial rise in air fares especially around the Christmas to New Year period.

In addition why don’t you consider the following thoughts:

If you want to fly from Europe to Cape Town, then fares drop sharply in mid August, and hotel rates stay low until September. It is true that the temperature in Cape Town over Christmas are around 25 degrees centigrade, and in August only 18 degrees. There is far more rain in August, but what are the advantages of a low season visit apart from the obvious financial one?

The first thing is, that you don’t hopefully go to South Africa to sit and vegetate on a beach, after all you can go to many other less interesting places and do that.

Tehre is more rain so in the Western Cape, The Namaqualand is in full bloom, just for a very short period of time.

It is a great time to go whale watching in Hermanus, and a wonderful time to visit Kruger Park, because this is when the animals congregate around water holes.

So in conclusion the best time to visit South Africa is not December/January, but August

Is the cost of automobile insurance breaking you

Copyright 2006 Stacey Zimmerman

Follow These Tips To Lower Your Rates

When it comes to automobile insurance, many of us get frustrated. In most states, it is required by law to have it and the prices for it can be astronomical. The fact is automobile insurance does not have to be. The following are ways that you may be able to lower your rates.

One of the most important things you can do to lower your rates is to shop around. Make certain you get at least three different price quotes and you’ll even be able to access this type of information by using the Internet. Prices of automobile insurance vary from one company to the next, so you’ll want to ask others you know where they get their insurance from. It will pay to compare prices on the same coverage.

Another way to lower the cost of your automobile insurance is to ask for a higher deductible. The fact is if you increase your deductible by even $400, you can reduce your coverage by up to 30 percent. However, if you do raise your deductible, you’ll want to make sure that you would be able to pay it if there was a claim.

Make sure you check with your insurer to find out if they offer any discounts. Many will offer discounts for having a higher deductible, more than one vehicle on the automobile insurance, having a clean driving record for so many years, taking a defensive driving course, and even having low annual mileage. Many will offer a discount if you work within a certain amount of miles from your home. The fact is there may be many discounts that would apply to you but are not given to you since you didn’t ask.

You may also find lower rates by not having multiple drivers on your policy. If you are the only one to drive your car, there is no reason to have all people in the household on it. You may also be able to lower your rates by letting them know the exact value of your vehicle. The fact is many of us think are cars are worth more than they actually are. If you bought your vehicle four years ago, obviously the value of the car has gone down considerable. Don’t overpay on your vehicle if you do not have to.

If you have several types of insurance, such as homeowner’s insurance and life insurance, you may be entitled to a discount by getting all your insurance needs through one insurance company. Many may offer reduced rates for this, but it is still important to shop around multi-policy rates.

Many of us are paying a lot more than we should have to for automobile insurance. Keeping your driving record clean is, of course, a must to keep your rates lowered. You’ll find many of us could have much lower rates if we simply price compared and asked about what discounts may be available to us. Don’t pay too much for your automobile insurance. Start your price comparing today!

Thanksgiving-centerpiece-04

In the family I grew up in, we did not really put a premium on presentation. As a matter of fact, we tended to neglect it altogether. For a holiday like Thanksgiving, for example, we would go pretty all out with the food. We would have two or three different kinds of relish, turkey, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, a salad, and plenty of other gourmet grub, but we would never bother to go all the way and make a Thanksgiving centerpiece.

Even simple to make Thanksgiving table centerpieces were beyond our limited holiday preparations. I can not say why exactly, but for some reason or other, it did not seem important to us. That is why I was so surprised and impressed the first time I went over to my girlfriend’s family for the holidays.

They had an absolutely gorgeous Thanksgiving center piece. It was the perfect expression of the joy that the autumn season brings. The table was decorated with gourds, stocks of maize, and woven straw scarecrows holding little Hershey’s kisses in their hands. It was kind of silly, but it was also adorable.

What really amazed me about that meal was how much having a festive dйcor really added to everything. It really made it a much better day for all of us. The room was bright and cheerful, with little gourds scattered around to symbolize nature’s bounty, and because of that, we were bright and cheerful as well.

The next year, I decided that I would make my own homemade Thanksgiving centerpiece. I thought it would be hard, but it really was not. In general, Thanksgiving centerpieces are just a matter of assembling a few different elements. You don’t really have to make anything at all - all you have to do is to arrange a few things. I decided that a pile of gourds was a must have. Inside of that, I put a bouquet of flowers mixed in with a few stalks of corn. It was not quite as polished as the Thanksgiving centerpiece at my girlfriend’s home the year before, but it still looked pretty good. All in all, it was quite nice for a first try.

Since then, I tried to have table center pieces at all of my holiday events. I’m going to make a Thanksgiving centerpiece this year, but I think I’m going to go a step farther. I can hardly wait to assemble a nice Christmas centerpiece for the first time. I’m already coming up with some really great ideas.

Taking your infant in the open air

The respiration of a pure air is at all times, and under all circumstances, indispensable to the health of the infant.

The nursery therefore should be large, well ventilated, in an elevated part of the house, and so situated as to admit a free supply both of air and light. For the same reasons, the room in which the infant sleeps should be large, and the air frequently renewed; for nothing is so prejudicial to its health as sleeping in an impure and heated atmosphere. The practice, therefore, of drawing thick curtains closely round the bed is highly pernicious; they only answer a useful purpose when they defend the infant from any draught of cold air.

The proper time for taking the infant into the open air must, of course, be determined by the season of the year, and the state of the weather. "A delicate infant born late in the autumn will not generally derive advantage from being carried into the open air, in this climate, till the succeeding spring; and if the rooms in which he is kept are large, often changed, and well ventilated, he will not suffer from the confinement, while he will, most probably, escape catarrhal affections, which are so often the consequence of the injudicious exposure of infants to a cold and humid atmosphere."

If, however, the child is strong and healthy, no opportunity should be lost of taking it into the open air at stated periods, experience daily proving that it has the most invigorating and vivifying influence upon the system. Regard, however, must always be had to the state of the weather; and to a damp condition of the atmosphere the infant should never be exposed, as it is one of the most powerful exciting causes of consumptive disease.

The nurse-maid, too, should not be allowed to loiter and linger about, thus exposing the infant unnecessarily, and for an undue length of time; this is generally the source of all the evils which accrue from taking the babe into the open air.

Easytips

EASY TIPS ON HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR PLANTS

Many people worry a lot when it comes to caring for their plants. When talking about house plants, there is no need to worry. There are just a few things you need to consider.

1. Watering

Overwatering kills most houseplants. Looks can be deceptive, so to see if your soil is dry enough to water, try the finger test. Insert your index finger up to the first joint into the soil. If the soil is damp, don't water it.

2. Feeding

Foliage plants usually have high nitrogen needs, while flowering plants, K2O is needed. Slow release fertilizers can be mixed with the compost. However, certain plants like cacti and orchids need special fertilizer. Feed plants during their most active growth period.

3. Lighting

Plants like Sanseveria and Aspidistra require no sun. They can be placed away from a window. Spider plants need semi-shade. You can put plants like these near a window that does or does not get sunlight. Check the label to see what your plant needs.

4. Temperature

Houseplants can survive in cool or warm temperatures, but drastic fluctuations of temperature may not be good for them. One thing that most plants cannot survive is gas heating. If you have a plant that likes warm conditions, don't put it near an air conditioner in the summer.

5. Humidity

Some houseplants require a humid environment. One tip to maximize humidity is to put the pot inside a larger pot and fill in the gaps with stones or compost to keep in the moisture. Grouping plants together often creates a microclimate that they will benefit from. If you want, you can spray them with water once or twice a day depending on the temperature.

6. Re-potting

Some plants require re-potting for optimum growth but there are others that resent having their roots disturbed. Or their roots system may be small enough that they don't require re-potting. One way to check if your plant needs re-potting is to turn it upside down. Tap the pot to release the plant and check its roots. If roots are all you see, then re-pot. Sometimes the roots will come out of the pot. You should either cut them off or re-pot the plant.

You just need to have a little care for your plants and in turn, you'll reap the benefits. Indoor plants not only add to the beauty of your dйcor, but also give much pleasure to the indoor gardener.

Blush it on

Blush on the face is very essential to achieve a fresh look. A light application of blush can bring brightness and life to your pale face. Whether you are going out for a walk or for a special date, having blush on your face can help you achieve a dramatic look. Putting on blush also takes practice and skill because applying it in a wrong manner can yield bad results for your overall make-up appearance. You don’t want to be looking like clowns now do you? It is highly important that your blush accentuates your cheekbones to give depth and shape to your beautiful face.

There are a wide variety of blushes available on the market and it is important to not only finding the right color for your cheek but to also using the right kind suitable for your skin type. It is important to note that you select shades of blush that is near your complexion’s color so as to attain a more natural look. Choosing a darker hue for your cheeks does not make it look good for it draws the attention towards it instead of focusing on the overall impact that your face makes with the make-up you have on. Though it is not that advisable to be mixing different shades of blush if you are a beginner to avoid disastrous effects, I would strongly suggest that you start doing this only when you are already skillful and adept on the application of blush. It is advisable to use light shades of blush for day use while you stick with the darker tones for night time.

You can find blush available in powder, liquid, gel, or cream form. Powder blush is appropriate for almost all types of skin. You can also opt to use a mixture of powder or cream together especially for those with a mixed skin type. Cream blush is great for dry skin and if you have oily skin gel blush would be most suited for you.

In applying make-up, blush is always the last one that you put on. The blush would be the last aspect that would cap off your make-up to achieve a balanced look.

In applying blush use a large round brush and locate the apple of your cheeks by smiling as you apply it. Always clean your brush to prevent bacteria from accumulating on it that may cause allergies or skin related problems.

Eggs an excellent source of omega-3 oils for better health

Eggs have many health benefits, among them being the fact they can be an excellent source of omega-3 oils that can promote better health in those that take it as a supplement. Hens fed on flax seeds are particularly high in omega-3 fatty acids, although eggs have many health benefits other than omega-3.

Most of the health benefits of Omega fatty acids are well known, although many more are being continually discovered as scientists research the uses to which the substances can be put in our bodies. Omega-3 fatty acids have long carbon chains that are polyunsaturated, i. e. contain multiple double bonds in the hydrocarbon chain. As opposed to saturated fatty acids with no double bonds. They are important components of our neurological systems and help to build up cell membranes, but are probably best known for their effect in protecting us from cardiovascular diseases. Omega-3 fatty acids can help us to maintain a healthy heart, and so enable us to live longer.

The current western diet has been changing to reduce cholesterol intake and improve our lifestyle. However, this has not all been well advised, and the resultant diet is rich in vegetable oils as opposite to animal fats, the relative levels of omega fatty acids having changed in favor of omega-6 fatty acids. These omega-6 fats are not as healthy for us as omega-3, and can lead to a thrombogenic state that more easily leads to cardiovascular diseases and blood clots. Rather than a normal omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of around 2:1, this ‘improved’ diet has increased it to anything up to 50:1.

The American Heart Association has been advocating a diet richer in omega-3 fatty acids since 1996, yet while research continues to favor omega-3, the increase in consumption of vegetable oils has continued to increase, and with it a reduction in the overall health of a nation.

Omega-3 enriched eggs have been introduced as one means of redressing the balance. Hens fed on flax seeds lay eggs with a much higher proportion of omega-3 fatty acids than normal: up to and over 150mg per egg. Such eggs also have reduced cholesterol – over 15% less, and also are higher in vitamin E, a strong antioxidant, by up to 300%.

Two of the components of omega-3 oils, linoleic acid and linolenic acid, are what are known as ‘essential’ fatty acids. The term means that they cannot be manufactured in your body, so must essentially be introduced through your diet. When the human body developed to what it is now, the consumption of fish and other oils rich in omega-3 fatty acids was a significant part of our diets, and allowed our bodies to develop the biochemistry and metabolism that it uses today.

If we now upset that biochemistry by cutting our intake of unsaturated fatty acids, our metabolism will suffer and our general health decline. This is one reason why humans should interfere with their natural eating habits as little as possible, or if we do so excessively we should use supplements to replace what we are excluding from diets that have been natural to us for countless millennia. It is dangerous now for the human race to suddenly switch to a significantly different diet without suitable supplementation, because we do not know the long terms effects of doing so.

One way to maintain a steady intake of the fatty acids our metabolism needs in order to ensure our survival is to eat eggs, and especially omega-3 enriched eggs. Of course, eggs have a lot more beneficial health effects than just omega-3. Take choline for example. This is a trimethylated compound that is important in the metabolism of fats. It is the newest official B vitamin, and is an essential component of cell membranes. It is particularly important for the maintenance of the health of your brain, and preventing many brain disorders.

It is also important in methylation, an important biochemical process, and also in the biochemical synthesis of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. This substance is used to pass messages between nerve cells and from nerve cells to muscles, and a deficiency can cause many health problems, including heart disease and diseases of the vascular system. Methylation is a very important biochemical reaction, being used particularly in messages between body cells and is used to switch genes on and off.

Up to 90% of Americans are deficient in choline, and subject to many diseases because of it. Symptoms include insomnia, fatigue, excess fat concentrations in the blood and problems with your nerves and muscular control. It can cause liver problems and heart problems, and cause a number of brain disorders.

Choline is available in the diet from lecithin and egg yolks, and also soya beans, flax seeds, peanuts and potatoes. The typical American diet is not conducive to an adequate choline intake, and increased egg consumption can help to redress this. This is particularly true of eggs from hens fed with flax seeds, or linseed, from which the triple benefits of choline, omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E are obtained. Just two eggs will provide you with almost 50% of your daily requirement of choline.

Some are wary about the cholesterol content of eggs, but studies have indicated that it not so much the amount of dietary cholesterol that is eaten, but saturated fats that cause the excess deposition of cholesterol in the arteries. Cholesterol is an essential part of human biochemistry, and without any we could not survive. In fact, studies have shown that eating two eggs daily can improve your cholesterol levels

Eggs are also rich in lutein, and contain more than vegetables such as spinach. Lutein is an important carotenoid that is believed to prevent age related macular degeneration, which can lead to blindness, and also prevents the development of cataracts. Eggs also appear to have anti-clotting properties on the blood, and so help to reduce the thrombogenesis of omega-6 fatty acids.

Without a doubt, eating eggs is very good for your health, and especially so if they are rich is omega-3 fatty acids. They contain a wide variety of nutrients and truly are a complete food packaged by nature. Some may prefer to stay away from eggs and miss the omega-3 benefits so there is an alternative for diets that exclude eggs. Omega-3 is available in a supplement form that one can take on a daily basis to reap the benefits omega-3 presents.

Landscaping an american pass time

Landscaping has been a favorite American pass time for hundreds of years. Recently through the added exposure of popular TV shows, the interest in sprucing up one’s landscaping has become greater than ever. Today, many shows are introducing everyone to new and fun ways to enjoy landscaping. There are even dedicated television channels, such as the Home and Garden channel, that explore all things beautiful to improve one’s living space and take it from just functional to luxurious through improved landscaping.

Landscaping is a pass time no longer limited to just seniors or those that enjoy a relaxing activity. Today, all across our great country, families are finding landscaping to be a great activity that everyone from Grandma and Grandpa down to the youngest children can enjoy together. Landscaping is a family activity that everyone can get on board with.

Landscaping, although relaxing, can also be a good source for exercise. With an ever increasing spot light on weight loss, adding landscaping to your routine can increase calorie burn.

Landscaping’s appeal has so many facets. Those looking to improve the look of home they want to sell as well as those looking to improve the look of their current home and neighborhood are finding landscaping to be a viable option. It is simply amazing to see what a difference a little landscaping can do to add curb appeal to a home or neighborhood. Many communities are improving their aesthetic appeal with professional landscaping.

To be an expert in landscaping, one must understand that it is not as easy as it seems. You need to do appropriate research, design and implementation in order for any landscaper to appreciate the outcome. This of it the way an artist looks at an empty canvas. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Take that into landscaping and you’ll see results that you never thought you could achieve.

Important aspects of home schooling

Some 26% of parents in each of the American states consider home schooling for their children over normal school classes. This is because of the benefits both the parents and the children get as a social being. Home schooling gives them the chance to be free of old school days with pressure and daily assignments. Due the old set up, many members of the family have become isolated from each other allowing them just a few precious times with their loved ones.

There are four important reasons why parents opt for home studying for their children, a) social reasons, b) academic reasons, c) family reasons, and d) religious reasons.

Social Reasons

By joining the community cycle, parents fee that their children are more comfortable in dealing with different kinds of people. They feel that their kids have a lesser tendency of becoming dependent with peers. By introducing the kids more to church and community programs, these home-schooled kids do not feel self conscious and recognized, as kids are easier to talk to.

The catalogue, Growing Without Schooling publisher Pat Farenga wrote: “Group experiences are a big part of education, and home schoolers have plenty of them. They write to us about how they form or join writing clubs, book discussion groups and local home-schooling groups. Home schoolers also take part in school sports teams and music groups (in nearby public schools), as well as in the many public and private group activities our communities provide. These young people can and do experience other people and cultures without going to school."

The home-school setting deviates the child’s attention from alcohol, premarital sex, drugs, violence and gangsters that could destroy his future. And since home-schooled children are free from peer pressure, they are more likely to have more friends from the church and community activities. Some communities created a special group for home-schooled children where field trips, social recreations and team building games are organized. This builds respect and opens channels for communication.

Academic Reasons

Parents believe that the less students handled by the teacher, the more focus is provided each of the learners. They thought that the personal tutoring of teachers is the most fruitful way of helping the kids learn successfully. The most famous home-schooled personalities of all time are: Thomas Edison, Charles Dickens, Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie, Florence Nightingale, Woodrow Wilson, Woodrow Brothers, and Benjamin Franklin. One parent got more of his children’s academic training in home schooling through the process of exchanging skills with other home schooled children. Being an English degree holder, he teaches three of his colleague’s sons, while his colleague teaches his kids math.

Although home schooling is, as derived from its own name “home”, this special education also developed into a more organized and planned instrument of teaching. One example is the High Plains Christian Home Educators that was established in Colorado Springs who has its own administrator who sees to it that all 200 of their home-schooled children are given enough classes. Unlike a normal school setting, home based studying allows each of the subject areas to be taught separately making the approach cross disciplined.

Each of the students is given their own set of action plans so they can have the freedom to continue their passion. Quality time is provided for each so that more focus can be attributed to their learning success.

Family Reasons

Parents of home-schooled children feel their presence felt by their kids. Family relationship is strengthened and ties are intact. A child’s self esteem are more boosted because of the parents’ full support. Based on the American League of Research Studies, kids that are home schooled are mo re loving and confident.

Religious Reasons

Schools in the US have kept away from any religious and political issues for fear of influence from the two, this is because many organized civil liberties even brought the issue of religious illegality in courts.

For that same reason, parents find teaching their children at home a worry free place for spiritual and religious growth. Religion can be inculcated as much as the parents would want to bring the whole belief to their kids in home schooling and they believe that it's impact can greatly affect the spirituality of their developing children.

Aromatherapy using nature s aroma to cure

Aromatherapy makes use of the essential oils from the plants and other aromatic compounds to help soothe the human mind and cure certain illness. You can do it at home with the help of essential oils, perfume and cosmetics. When it becomes a part of pharmacology, it is known as clinical aromatherapy.

Aromachology studies the effects of different aromas on human behavior. Certain aromas are believed to have relaxing effect on our mind and body. Aromatherapy includes not only the use of essential oils, but also absolutes, hydrosols, infusion, phytoncides, and carrier oils. The absolutes are oils extracted by superficial fluid extraction, like the rose absolute. Hydrosols, like the rose water, are aqueous by-products after distillation. Infusions are the aqueous solutions of plant material. Phytoncides are the natural volatile organic compounds extracted from plants. Sweet almond oil is an example of carrier oil, used to dilute essential oils.

Aromatherapy can be done through inhalation. By taking baths, massages and compresses, the essential oils can be absorbed by the skin. Through oral rinses and gargles, they can be absorbed through the mucous membranes. Ingestion is another method of aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy causes various therapeutic effects like the antiseptic effects, anesthetic effects, and psychological effects. Aromatherapy has its effects on the central nervous system and the metabolism. For home aromatherapy, you can blend neroli, eucalyptus, lavender, rosemary, nutmeg, and peppermints in the base oils and add a few drops of basil in that mixture. For bathing purposes, you can add oils like lavender, and rose to the water. Aromatherapy can heal depression, insomnia, acne, joint pains, stress, cough, and other types of diseases. For the skin, aromatherapy best solves acne and dry skin problems.

Aromatherapy helps to enhance the skin and makes it glow. It gives a pedicure and manicure effect, and prevents skin wrinkles. The common essential oils used for aromatherapy are sweet almond, avocado, cocoa butter, grape seed, jojoba, olive, peanut, rose hip, sesame, sunflower and more. Make sure not to use ajowan, almond, arnica, calamus, garlic, melilotus, onion, mustard, wormseed, and wormwood, without proper supervision from the aromatherapy practitioner.

Demonstrate your expertise

The prevailing moniker in modern marketing is to provide value first and only sell later. We live in an over-marketed world and consumers have grown suspicious of clever advertising slogans and unrealistic product claims. It all looks like empty promises these days so businesses are forced to demonstrate their value directly before any revenue flows in.

This moniker works well with the process of becoming a recognized expert in your field. As I have discussed in previous articles, the fastest way to become a recognized expert in your field is to acquire expertise and then give it away for free. Of course, that can’t go on forever but the early going is accelerated dramatically if you flood your field with genuine expertise.

One of the most effective ways to build a name for yourself is to publish on popular blogs and forums. This is precisely in line with what we’re talking about. Posting on blogs and forums gives you an opportunity to demonstrate your expertise directly to those who looking for it. But there are other ways of demonstrating your expertise and this article will detail three options.

The most obvious location for demonstrating your expertise is your website. Make sure your website is targeted to a narrow audience and then build a huge website around that narrow topic. Not only will this give you an opportunity to showcase your expertise in your field but it will improve your website’s page ranking with the major search engines.

Before you even begin building your website, sit down and formalize your target market and your positioning statement. Once you’ve settled on a focus you’re comfortable with, list all the sub-topics and angles you can address on your website. Develop a huge list of content angles you can incorporate into your site. Although the process of content development takes time, it will leave your visitors convinced you’re the authority in your field.

A second opportunity for demonstrating your expertise is to create offline literature on the topic. Now, the first thing everybody thinks about when I talk about offline literature is writing a book. That’s an excellent exercise but it’s also a pretty big undertaking. Your offline literature can also include things like fact sheets or a short handbook or a flyer with 50 success tips for your field.

Offline literature is important because it establishes you as someone who is putting real resources into the public domain. That builds credibility and exposure. Not only that, but it gives you an opportunity to refer to yourself as an author, even if the underlying publication is only 10 or 15 pages long. In my own field, I wrote two handbooks and was immediately referred to as an author by colleagues in my field.

A third opportunity for demonstrating your expertise is to offer workshops and seminars on the topic. There are a variety of places you can offer such workshops without paying any money to do so. Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs are a good example. Municipal Adult Education Programs are another example. And conferences and tradeshows are a third.

All of these examples are looking for speakers on an ongoing basis and only require a proposal from you to consider your workshop. Learning how to write good workshop proposals is an art of its own but believe me; even a mediocre workshop proposal will get accepted a lot more than you might think, leaving you with speaking engagements that can position you as an expert in front of hundreds or even thousands of people.

Modern marketing and the exercise of becoming a recognized expert in your field both require that you acquire expertise and then give it away for free. This article has outlined three excellent ways for you to dump expertise into the public domain. And all three will contribute to a business reputation that can benefit you for years to come.

Common mistakes made in home business

Anyone who is trying to start a home business has probably seen the failure statistics for new home businesses, and avoiding some common mistakes made by new business operators will help make your home business more successful.

A lack of self discipline is one of the most common mistakes made by people who start a home business. Being your own boss is great if you have the discipline to work when you should, instead of running off to play. People who procrastinate or do not do well working with no supervision usually do not operate successful home businesses. If you plan to start your own home business, you have to be prepared to work even if you don't feel like it to meet your deadlines.

Not marketing their home business is another huge mistake that new home business owners make. Marketing is needed to bring in customers, and without it a home business may very well shrivel and dry up. Marketing can be done in numerous ways, and the cost varies from very cheap to very expensive, depending on the specific marketing campaign. Marketing will help you reach people and tell them about your home business. Not aggressively marketing their home business may cause many owners to watch their business fail.

A big mistake that is made by home business owners is to take customer service and concerns lightly. Customers are your profit maker and a sign of the success of your home business. By ignoring concerns or not correcting problems, your home business could lose customers. Word of mouth is the best advertising you can get, and it can not be bought. A satisfied customer will tell friends and family members about your home business, and this could lead to several more customers. If a customer is unhappy and you do not fix it, you can bet that they will tell everyone they know, and this could cost your home business many potential customers. Excellent customer service is a must for any business, including home businesses.

Common mistakes in your home business could cost you customers and profits. By realizing some of the more common mistakes new home business owners make, you can avoid these mistakes and have a better chance of making your home business a success. Make sure that you have the self discipline that is required when you work for yourself. Market your home business aggressively. Marketing brings in customers and tells everyone about your home business. Make sure that you have excellent customer service. A satisfied customer is a repeat customer who will tell people they know. This leads to more customers and more success for your home business.

Your first set of golf clubs need to fit your game

A basic set of golf clubs is all any golfer needs to start playing the game. A set of three woods, a collection of 3-9-irons, pitching wedge, sand wedge and a putter, are all that is required.

As your game develops and you improve, more specific clubs can be added to suit your abilities. To start there is only one rule to remember: You can't carry more than 14 clubs in your bag at any one time.

Before buying a set of clubs, first determine your ability level. A low-handicap player has a single-digit handicap, meaning he or she generally scores less than 10 strokes over par, or an 82 or less on a par-72 course.

The low-handicap golfer

The low-handicap player should carry a driver and at least 1 fairway wood, most likely the 3-wood. The low-handicap player will benefit from lower irons in his bag, because the three or four-iron is a difficult club to hit but can be very useful if it can be controlled.

A minimum of 3 wedges which includes a sand wedge, pitching wedge and either a lob wedge or approach wedge in their bags, with a maximum 4-degree difference between each one.

The mid-handicap golfer

The mid-handicap golfer plays "bogey golf," meaning his or her score averages out to 1 over par on each hole, or somewhere in the 11-20 handicap range.

In addition to the driver and a 3-wood and a 5-wood, consider adding a 7-wood or even a 9-wood. These fairway woods give much better control and consistency than the harder to hit long irons.

Usually only a 3 through 9 are recommended, since the 2-iron is very difficult to hit consistently. Three different wedges are recommended - pitching wedge, sand-wedge, and either a lob wedge or approach wedge

The high-handicap golfer

The high-handicap golfer is either a beginner or has not had the time to develop his or her game to reach the mid-handicap level. The high-handicapper usually shoots close to or over 100.

For starters, you may not even want to have a driver in your bag. Instead, try going with the 3-wood as your off-the-tee wood and add the easier-to-hit 7- and 9-wood. The wedge you should carry can be either a pitching wedge, sand wedge, lob wedge and or approach wedge.

As for wedges go with a sand wedge (55-57 degree loft) or choose between a lob wedge (60-64 degree loft) or a gap wedge (50-53 degree loft). Putters are usually sold separately from full sets to allow the golfer to choose his or her own style.

How to download games dvd divx movies

The most sought after and common content on the internet today games and media. With Games evolving from DOS to the MMORPG formats, so have the gamers. Every other day we see a new game or a new update or an add-on to any of the plethora games being released. The gamers who play that particular game start forming a beeline get the update. The same is applicable to all media content like music or video and movies in either DVD or VCD formats. As all of us know, movies and music will never cease to be produced and never cease to have a following.

These categories of software – games and media are certainly the most sought after, and the same time quite expensive, especially when the needs or wants evolve so frequently. To serve this purpose, a lot of download sites have come up that allow you to do download content at amazing speeds, much more than standard downloads. Many work on Peer to Peer file sharing technology and many others on their own customized technologies. However, many of these sites work on a subscription basis and are not very expensive.

Most of the websites claim to offer 250 times the normal download speeds. They offer a lot of free stuff along with unlimited Free Game Downloads, extensive databases and have their own internal search engines to find what you need. Most have content from various media formats and are rich in movies, TV shows, games and software. They offer good technical support. Almost all of these sites have an integrated downloading software and DVD and CD burning facilities.

The advantage with these sites is that they do not charge anything for each download. The subscription is charged monthly and that’s it. With a variety of paid sites out there and a lot of takers for this class of sites, the need for keeping it free is necessary but with the infrastructure costs hitting the roof, they charge a nominal subscription fee. For most of these sites, time bound access begins at $1.37 a month and lifetime access at $34.95. They are easy to setup and operate.

The fact that the latest games take about 2-3 CD’s (~2Gb) and a good quality DVD movie can go up to 8Gb makes the downloads a little time taking, this is taken care of by blazing download speeds offered by these sites. Most of the sites that offer these services are free of any viruses, Adware or Spyware thus making them safe to subscribe to.

How do i market a resell rights product

Resell rights products offer you the ability to sell your own product, without actually creating one. While this gets you past one hurdle – the creation of a product – you still have another hurdle to face. How do you market a resell rights product?

The first and best option is to market the product to your mailing list. If you do not have a mailing list, build one. There are various ways to do this, but the quickest way to build a list is to offer a free product, which is advertised with pay-per-click or through other people’s lists. When the prospect arrives at the site to receive their free gift, they must fill in their name and email address, and give you permission to email them in the future.

Pay-Per-Click advertising can be used for more than list building, however. You can also use pay-per-click to market your resell rights product. Google AdWords is one of the best pay-per-click programs in existence today, but there are many other options, including Yahoo Search Marketing.

You can also purchase advertising in related newsletters, which are also called ezines. This is a very effective way to market a product, and it is a tried and true method. You can find quality newsletters by doing searches in the ezine directories online.

Article marketing is also very effective. You simply write articles that relate to your product, or have them written for you, and submit them to the various article banks, allowing others to read them and use them for content for their newsletters and websites, for free. At the bottom of your articles, add a resource box, which is essentially an ‘about the author’ paragraph, which should include a link to your sales page.

You can also joint venture with people who have large mailing lists. Just make sure that their lists are made up of people who will be interested in your product. It doesn’t make sense to market football products to a mailing list that is mostly made up of women who are interested in recipes.

Learning italian has more to it

The romance languages of Europe, has familiar similarities to each of them. This is because the languages such as French, Italian, and Spanish all came from the mother language, Latin. This means that there are functions and words that are in relation with each other among the languages mentioned above.

If you already know portions of speaking French or Spanish (either of these languages), you are actually helping yourself in enriching your foreign language vocabulary. This is because when you start learning either of the romance languages, you are opening to chances of learning other European romance languages as well.

This doesn't mean though that starting to learn the Italian language doesn't require your complete understanding of the lessons. You still have to start from the simplest Italian language lesson to the difficult part. We all know how to obtain Italian lessons as well. An online course is one thing or taking a formal course from a university is also a good option.

If attending a complete full course of the subject does not appeal much to your busy schedule; try taking lessons that you can learn in a daily basis. Or better yet, take one Italian word each day. No need to worry in moving on to the next though, because the more you understand its meaning and purpose; the better you are able to use it with other Italian words.

Enriching yourself with more than one language is a great way of maintaining and putting your brain to constant work. If the Italian language is a completely new experience for you, so it is to your brain. For all you know, you are actually helping your brain maintains its efficiency by inputting new information to it everyday.

To help you remember the words more, try putting up posts of the lesson you have for one day around the house. This will clearly help you remember more the current lessons you're trying to learn.

Benefits of the business cards

Sometimes being at the right place and time can do wonders for the business. This can happen in the street or in the mall and starts by just approaching a stranger. New contacts occur everyday and with a little initiative, the person may be able to close a sale or be referred to someone who may need it.

There are many ways that a person can attract customers to one’s business. Some do this by launching a marketing campaign in the form of an ad in the paper or on a billboard. Some don’t use marketing at all and just flourish through word of mouth.

On a more personal level if that person travels around, the best thing to carry and give out is a business card.

Business cards are used by people in big and small time business. It reflects who the person is. It gives people an idea of what the person is capable of doing in the event that the service one offers is needed in the future.

Such instruments are easy and light to carry along. It saves a lot of time and trouble for the other person to jot down one’s contact details.

Making a business card is easy. One can do this at home and just print it in the computer. Should the person decide to have it done by a small printing firm, the individual should be sure that the spelling and the design is correct. This will make it easy for people to get hold of the services one can do.

Business cards should always have some important details such as the name and contact number where the person can be reached and the company that one works for. If the person is self-employed, this can also work to get more customers for the business.

Since most people who get business cards simply put it in the drawer with the others, one should be imaginative in letting people recall it.

A few good examples are giving it in the form of a magnet that can be placed in the fridge. Should that person drink coffee in the office, one can have a coaster made that people will surely notice. Since computers are a necessity in the workplace, a mouse pad will also be a good idea to give away.

There is also another way of making oneself noticed by other people. That is carrying the business cards of other people and giving it to those who need it. When this happens and the person asks how the card went to that person, the individual will be remembered and one’s services will surely be called upon in the future by these two potential customers.

Businesses survive due to a regular customers and having new clients. This will bring additional revenue for the company and allows the company to flourish. By using the resources one has such as the use of business cards, this will happen.

These small hard pieces of paper are things that one can give out at anytime. Be it in a convention or some other function related to work or in parties and other social gatherings that will really help increase customer traffic. Small things do come in small packages and bringing this handy thing around can really help the person a lot.

What is education based marketing

Selling-based marketing is built around a selling message, sometimes called a sales pitch. The sales pitch is often delivered using methods that reach out to prospective customers, such as telephone selling, direct mail and door-to-door sales.

Education-Based Marketing is built around an educational message, which replaces the sales message. The educational message is commonly delivered to prospective clients through educational means. These include written materials, media publicity (articles and interviews), advertising, seminars, newsletters, audio and video tapes, and Internet web sites. Frankly, you can educate your prospective clients using any method through which they can get your information and advice.

Typically, your Education-Based Marketing program works like this: You create an educational message, which you first put into the form of a written handout. Then you offer your handout to prospects who are interested in your services. Prospects call your office to get your free written materials. You respond by sending the materials and inviting prospects to an upcoming seminar. In addition, you keep prospects educated through your educational newsletter.

You put your message in front of your prospects through paid advertising, articles in newspapers and magazines, and interviews on radio and TV. In addition, you communicate with people on your mailing list and invite them to attend your seminar and bring their friends and associates.

Selling-Based Marketing Creates These Problems:

1. Prospects go out of their way to avoid you because they are tired of selling and sales pressure. They don't like to be approached by salespeople who have something to sell.

2. Prospects don't think they can trust you because all of us have been burned by salespeople who gave us "inaccurate" and even false information in their eagerness to earn a commission.

3. Prospects are defensive and protective because they expect you to try to pressure them into buying something they don't want or need.

Education-Based Marketing Provides These Solutions:

1. You give prospective clients what they want, information and advice -- and you remove what they don't want, a sales pitch.

2. You maintain your dignity because you never make any effort to sell.

3. You establish yourself as an authority because prospective clients see you as a reliable source of information.

4. You don't seek out prospects; instead, they call you.

5. You reach prospects during the first stage of the decision-making process, often before they call your competitors.

6. You identify even marginal prospects who suffer from phone-call fear, but who aren't afraid to call for your free information.

7. You prove that calling your office is nothing to be afraid of. In fact, it's a positive experience.

8. You save money because you don't need expensive brochures.

9. You receive calls from qualified prospects who are genuinely interested in your services and you screen out people who are not your prospects.

10. You establish your credibility and make a positive first impression by offering helpful information rather than a sales pitch.

11. You save time by answering common questions in your materials and seminars, rather than answering the same questions over and over.

12. You begin to earn your prospect's loyalty because you've made an effort to help him, even if he doesn't become your client.

13. You know precisely how well your marketing works because you can count the number of prospects who respond -- and the number who go on to become clients.

14. You gain a competitive advantage simply by using this method because few, if any, of your competitors currently use it.

15. You benefit from the synergy of several educational methods that reinforce each other.

16. You earn a true profit, rather than just creating more work and more overhead.

Now you understand why the American Marketing Association featured this innovative method on the front page of its national publication, MARKETING NEWS. Now I invite you to profit from this unique method.

How to repair bad credit

The first step needed to overcome a bad credit is to snatch a copy and take a look into your own credit report because incorrect information on your credit report will only make matters worse if you already have a bad credit rating. According to the US Public Interest Research Group, one quarter of the credit reports ordered contained errors. You can order a copy of your credit from three credit reporting agencies – Experian, Trans Union and Equifax. You are entitled to one free copy of your credit report per year, and each time you are refused credit, employment or insurance.

If you are sure that there are false Statements on your Report, write a letter to each of the Credit Reporting Agencies. Explain the questionable items in detail, and provide proof to back up your claims (Paid Receipts for example). Investigation takes 30 days, and decision will be made after that period.

If you are planning to get professional help, be aware of your rights as a consumer outline in the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA). According to some of the provisions provided by this Act, the credit repair company cannot make false claims about their services, or charge you until they have completed the promised services, must have a detailed description of the services to be performed, duration, and guarantees if they can offer any.

One important step that can be really helpful in repairing bad credit is to negotiate with your creditors for a repayment plan keeping in mind how much you can afford and intend to pay. It may also be possible to get them to remove the charge off from your report and replace it with "paid as agreed" by offering to pay a certain amount per month. Many creditors agree to remove the negative from credits report in return for payment because they are sure that the will get their money back this way. You can also try to get them to drop the interest too in exchange for a lump sum as first payment.

Another action that can be taken in order to deal with bad credit is to get help through a credit counseling company. Many universities, military bases, credit unions, housing authorities, and branches of the U. S. Cooperative Extension Service operate nonprofit credit counseling programs. These agencies can advise you on managing your money and debts, help you develop a budget, and offer free educational materials and workshops, information and referrals. Certified and trained counselors will discuss your entire financial situation with you, advice and help you to develop a personalized plan to overcome your financial problems.

Here are some other important steps that can be taken to improve bad credit:

1.Pay all of your bills on time, which accounts for 35% of your FICO score.

2.Get a secured credit card to help reestablish your credit

3.Request in writing to your creditors to reduce the credit limits on your accounts to lower your amount of available credit since the total amount of available credit is considered by lenders even if you owe nothing.

4.Request in writing to your creditors to close some of your credit card accounts and report this status change to all the three credit-reporting agencies.

Heart attack prevention tips

While some have to fight the battle of the bulge for mere shallow reasons, there are those who do all the dieting and exercising to reduce their cholesterol levels just to stay alive. And while cholesterol is an important component of the membranes of cells, playing an important part in maintaining brain synapses as well as in the immune system, it is also the largest cause of heart attack and stroke.

While it is great that most people who are suffering from high levels of cholesterol go to their dieticians to have their daily eating habits tweaked by following a strict meal plan in order to help them lower their cholesterol levels (hopefully back to normal levels), some people have really gone overboard, but if you feel compelled to lower your cholestorol, consult with your doctor, most doctors are fine with prescribing cholesterol reducing drugs.

When coupled with a healthy diet and regular exercise, the drugs can make quite a difference in your cholesterol levels, at least enough that your levels can be considered safe.

There are four kinds of cholesterol reducing drugs:

1. Bile acid

Sequesterants are cholesterol reducing drugs that aim to bind with the bile that is being produced by one’s liver. The bile helps out in our digestion as well as in the absorption of fats from the intestine. This cholesterol reducing drug blocks out the digestion of fats from the bile to help prevent the formation of cholesterol. Various cholesterol reducing drugs in this category are the following:

- Colestipol

- Colestid

- Coleseyalam

- Welchol

- Cholestyramine

- Questran

2. Statins

Popularly known as statins, the HMG-CoA inhibitors are cholesterol reducing drugs that prevent the enzyme called 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl-conenzyme, a reductase, from converting fat into cholesterol. This cholesterol reducing drug is seen as the most effective one in the market today and does some added good to one’s body as 2003 reports claim that people with heart failure but no coronary artery diseases receive great benefits from this in as early as 14 weeks.

Popular drugs from this cholesterol reducing drug group include:

- Simvastatin

- Zocor

- Cerivastatin

- Baycol

- Fluvastatin

- Lescol

- Lovastatin

- Mevacor

- Prevastatin

- Pravachol

- Atorvastatin

- Lipitor

3. Fibric Acid

The cholesterol reducing drug called fibric acid and its derivaties are less effective than the statins when in comes to lowering one’s cholesterol level.

Popular drugs under this kind of cholesterol reducing drugs are:

- Clofibrate

- Atormid-S

- Gemfibrozil

- Lopid

- Fenofribrate

- Tricor

4. Niacin

Niacin, or vitamin B-3, also is effective in lowering cholesterol levels. Although the normal vitamin dose of niacin is only set at 20 mg for each day, the dose required to reduce cholesterol levels is at least 500 mg each day. Niacin helps reduce cholesterol by inhibiting very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) secretion in the bloodstream.

Starting a home business requires time and effort

Each person has their own reasons for wanting to start a home business and there are, of course, plenty of businesses that are available. First you need to figure out if you want a work from home business or a work at home business. There is a difference in the work required for each, however no matter which one you choose, it should be something that you enjoy doing. When you choose something you like to do you will be more likely to succeed.

Service related jobs are the most common work from home businesses. These include jobs such as plumbing or another form of home improvement. Consultants can often work for someone else and telecommute. Occasionally you may also be able to find a salaried work at home position, although these jobs are more difficult to find. If you persist you may be able to find just what you are looking for.

Working from home has its benefits. Besides being able to work in the comfort of your pajamas, you will also be able to create your own hours and decide how often and when you want to work. Not to mention, the overhead costs are low. You can also take a tax deduction on some of your operating expenses. However, be sure to speak to your accountant before claiming these expenses because there are specific rules that you must follow.

If you are considering working from home, you may want to work part-time before leaving your full-time job. Then you will be able to learn more about the work at home opportunity and weigh the costs and benefits. You will be able to see if the opportunity is a good fit for you before you choose to give up your day job.

When working from home, you are most likely working as a contractor. Therefore you will be responsible for filing your own taxes on a regular basis. This is similar to what businesses do for their employees.

Clocks as home decors

Clocks are more than just mere timepieces. They can be used as good decorative pieces in your home. They come in various sizes and shapes. Clocks also are made from different materials. The nature of the material used and the clock manufacturer are among the most crucial factors in determining the quality of the clock, including its price. For example, a simple digital clock might fetch you a few dollars, while those wooden and antique grandfather clocks generally cost up to thousands or more. Today’s clocks are do not just provide time correctly, but they also add glamour and beauty in your home. There are many clocks available, especially of the pendulum type. From miniature, table-accent clocks to grandfather ones, clocks are a gorgeous addition to your home. Don’t you think it is now time to think of clocks as not just mere timepieces?

1. Clocks In History

Clocks first came into existence in 1656 when the first pendulum clock was built by Dutch astronomer and mathematician Christian Huygens. Prior to his invention, clocks during Huygens’ time were not inaccurate. The most accurate clocks that time were off by several minutes daily. Thanks to Huygens, having a reliable clock everyday proved to be possible. Huygens used a pendulum as the timer of the clock. Before Huygens, however, Galileo was already doing some work on how to invent a clock! Galileo even had a pendulum system to keep track of time. Unfortunately, he died before he was able to complete his work.

2. Decorating with Clocks

Decorating a home using clocks is not exactly new. Since a few hundred years ago, home owners and good decorators have been choosing clocks as decorative devices in their homes. Ever since the pendulum clock was invented by Christian Huygens in the 1600s to measure weights and as a type of swinging pendulum, clocks have been known as good decorative items.

3. Modern Clocks

Compared with past ones, today’s clocks are stylish and sleeker in style aside from serving its main purpose. More than just telling time, clocks of today’s age, thanks to the state-of-the-art technology, are definitely more elegant and nice to look at than compared with their older counterparts.

4. When Choosing A Clock:

- Remember that the clock you are buying should reflect your personal tastes and serve as a decorative complement in the room you are putting it in

- One good tip in choosing clocks is to look for the fashion and style in a clock. When looking for a clock, choose one that makes a statement

- If you want to have a French country look in your home, select wall clocks that reflect country accents, such as having a patina finish on the clock’s face, wrought iron accents, or wood base that were whitewashed

- If you, on the other hand, want a contemporary look, why not try to shop around for a clock that has minimalist lines as well as chrome. There are also clocks that are sleek and have stainless detailing.

- You could also choose big and oversized clocks if you want to emphasize your timepiece, compared with a smaller one that could get lost in a clutter.

5. Large Clocks

- If you want to balance out an oversized lamp, try putting a traditional anniversary clock on the end of the table

- You could also put a wall clocked placed on a sturdy and decorative easel in your kitchen for quick and instant charm

- Having an antique grandfather clock in your den provides extra comfort and warmth. Of course, the grandfather clock should be in a nice condition. Otherwise, the effect is somewhat diminished

Make australian travel planning simple

Thinking about Australian travel always conjures up mental pictures of white sandy beaches and blue green waters, outback adventures, shopping in Sydney and Melbourne, and dining on local delights. For this very reason, people the world over dream of visiting Australia and taking in these sights and activities for themselves. Planning your trip can be a lot of fun, but it can also be overwhelming as you try to decide where you would most like to go in this vast country and what you want to do when you get there, as well as where you will stay and also what sort of transportation you will need. Any type of travel involves a lot of details, and this trip will be no different!

Australian travel plans can be made through an agent, but the problem many people encounter is that their agent has never been to the area they are interested in going to. It can also be a problem because many agents want to sell their customers the most expensive package deals because they earn the most amount of commission. This can be frustrating, but a lot of people settle for the trip their agent plans because they don’t know any better and don’t realize that they can put a trip together on their own.

If you do a bit of research into where you would most like to go in this beautiful country, you can then look into your travel arrangements to that location. Many of the most beautiful places in the country do not have airports right in them, so you will need to trek a bit to get there from the airport. This is usually not an issue, but can get to be a bit confusing or overwhelming because this often means that you have to consider transportation for your vacation as well. There are a lot of things to think about and details to keep straight, and it can be hard to get it all straight. While you can take care of Australian travel plans on your own, there is a lot of information involved and it would be nice to be able to streamline the process, wouldn’t it?

Christmas article 39

39. Gift-giving At Christmas

The real meaning of Christmas is often expressed as being about giving to

others during the season. Giving can take many forms, but during the Christmas

season the most obvious way in which giving is done is by preparing beautifully

wrapped Christmas presents for family, friends, acquaintances, work colleagues,

teachers and others such as business clients.

The tradition of giving gifts at Christmas is believed to have started

with the Three Wise Men who brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. But

the practice of giving gifts as is common today, evolved from a retail strategy

that involved Santa Claus and attracting children into stores. For that reason,

giving gifts at Christmas and during the holidays has been centered on children.

Giving gifts during Christmas started in the early 19th century when the

celebration of Christmas was restored after a period when the Protestants in

England banned Christmas celebrations. In 1820 to 1840 when Christmas

celebrations regained popularity, stores started to advertise special Christmas

shopping promotions. At the same time, newspapers also created advertising

sections solely for holiday shopping advertisements. These special advertising

sections had prominent displays of Santa Claus.

In 1841 when a store in Philadelphia had a life-size model of Santa Claus,

hundreds of children turned up to get a look at Santa Claus, which had become a

new and popular element of revitalized Christmas celebrations. The interest in

seeing Santa Claus provided a marketing idea to retailers that they could

attract children and parents to stores through offers to have a look at a 'real'

or 'live' Santa Claus. Because of that marketing strategy to attract children

during Christmas, the focus was therefore to give Christmas presents to

children.

Today, gift-giving is still focused on children, but adults are as much popular

recipients as children. Within families, the focus on children is evident in the

fact that an individual child will get more gifts than any other individual

adult member of the family. For young children, who are particularly delighted

and enchanted by the holidays and Christmas festivities, toys are usually the

gift given. Among older children, clothes and electronic gadgets are popular

items to give as Christmas gifts.

Adults are the ones however, for whom there is the widest range of items that

can be given as Christmas presents. An item that will make a good Christmas or

holiday present to just about any adult is a decadent box of chocolate or

holiday cookies. This is enjoyed even by those who are diet-conscious because,

they can be sugar - and, or, fat-free or also low in carbohydrates. At Christmas

time also, many people tend to temporarily disregard any strict diet rules that

they are following and so they welcome and enjoy any type of Christmas treats

heartily.

According to a survey done in 2004 by the National Confectioners Association, 90

percent of 1,000 adults who were surveyed responded that giving or receiving a

box of chocolates and creating or receiving a stocking filled with goodies were

among the top three ways they enjoyed candy during the winter holidays. A third

way was having candy that was placed in a dish, which indicates that having

sweet treats at Christmas time is generally enjoyed by a broad cross-section of

people.

Aside from family members and friends, it may also be a nice gesture to give a

holiday or Christmas present to colleagues at work, teachers of your children

and based on your profession, to business clients. The primary reason to give

any of those categories of people holiday or Christmas gifts is likely to

express appreciation. For that reason, a holiday present of goodies or treats

would indeed be a sweet gift to give.

How to experience a lucid dream

Lucid dreaming means dreaming while you know that you are dreaming. The term was coined by Frederik van Eeden who used the word "lucid" in the sense of mental clarity. With practice nearly anyone can experience lucid dreams.

Lucidity is not the same as dream control. It is possible to be lucid and have little control over the dream. However, becoming lucid in a dream is likely to increase your ability to deliberately influence the events within the dream. With practice you may extend the amount of control that you have over dream events. Many lucid dreamers choose to do something permitted only by the extraordinary freedom of the dream state, such as flying.

Some people have objections to lucid dreams. They say that it is un-natural and could be harmful to the psyche. In my opinion this is not true at all. Perhaps if all of our dreams were lucid and controlled there may be some harm, but with our lucid dreams spread out among many "normal" dreams we have plenty of time for non-lucid dreaming.

While we are in a dream our mind accepts what we see and feel as reality. We often find ourselves in very unusual circumstances when compared to our waking life. You could be living in a different house or driving a different car. The sky could be green and the river yellow. In most cases we accept these things as being true. Why doesn't the mind "think" 'Hey! I don't have this vehicle' or 'This isn't where I live!' or even 'Hey! I know the sky isn't supposed to be that color!'

This is what I call incongruities. Things in our dreams that are not "normal". We must wonder, and many have, why our mind so readily accepts anything we experience within our dreams as being real. We know there are no monsters. We know the proper colors for things. We know our home and our daily life. While we are dreaming we often forget these things and we believe what we see in the dream.

Just knowing this and thinking about it can actually help you on your way to a lucid dream experience. An incongruity is one of the triggers to lucid dreaming. A trigger is that which inspires or begins lucidity.

Here is an example of this from one of my own lucid dreams:

I was driving a blue Ford Bronco down a dirt road. I think it was a late 70's model. There was a young boy in the passenger seat. I was giving him a ride because his motorcycle had run out of gas. The bike was in the back. Suddenly I realized it. I did not own a blue Bronco! In the dream I slammed on the breaks and held my hands up. "I don't own a Ford bronco!" I said, "I am dreaming!" from that point on I was lucid.

A recurring dream or nightmare can also be used as a trigger. If you have a recurring dream make a conscious effort to realize that you are dreaming the next time you are in that situation. If the dream involves a certain person or place try to think as you go to sleep, "The next time I see that house I will know that I am dreaming". Since the dream is recurring it wont be long before you see that house, person, etc. This may take several attempts. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't work the very first time.

Another technique that works for a lot of people is asking yourself "Am I dreaming?" and leaving notes for yourself. Several times a day ask yourself the question aloud. Also write the question on a note and put it on the refrigerator. Put the same message in other places where you will see them throughout the day. Many people will find them self asking that question or seeing the question written on a note while they are actually dreaming. This will trigger a lucid dream.

My first lucid dream, that is the first one I had when I was trying to achieve lucidity, was triggered by a flying dream.

Try to go to sleep in the same place and around the same time as much as possible. It is best to sleep with silence as music or other sounds can affect your dreaming. If you do choose to listen to music while you are going to sleep choose soft and soothing music, preferably without vocals. Use the same music each time. Before you go to sleep concentrate on a trigger. My first time I said, "tonight I will fly", aloud several times and I concentrated on it. The second night I had a flying dream but I did not become lucid. On the fourth night I had another flying dream and at that time I became lucid. I was then able to fly to wherever I wanted to!

The trigger or combination of triggers that you use will depend upon you. If you have a common dream theme this is a great trigger. Just concentrate on the next time that you see or experience that you will be dreaming. Think of it as often as you can while you are awake.

Lucid dreamers often comment to themselves in dreams. You may say aloud, "This is a dream! I know that I am dreaming."

Make a list of questions that you have about dreams. Read the list often and look over it several times and concentrate on it before you go to bed.

Can you read text in a dream? Can you add numbers in a dream? These were some questions I had on my list at one time. I had read in a dream book that it was not possible to read text or to calculate numbers in a dream, but I didn't believe it. I eventually found myself lucid in an office. I walked over to a calendar on the wall and I read the text describing a New England farm house. I turned to another man there and said, "You see? You can read text in a dream!" I turned back to the calendar to read again and found that the words had completely changed. That amazed me and I commented to the other man about it. Next I walked over to a desk and found a calculator. I added and subtracted numbers and came up with correct answers. Yes, you can read text and perform mathematics in a dream. I proved it to myself beyond any doubt and with more confidence than I ever could have by reading anything about dreams.

Keep a Dream Journal

Keeping a dream journal is one of the most effective tools to achieving lucid dreams. Try to write down your dreams as soon after you wake up as you can. Don't just write a narrative of what took place in the dream. Record your thoughts and emotions felt. This will help you later on as you develop your dreaming research. Be sure to note all major elements, such as people, places, animals, etc.

Keeping a dream journal will also help you a great deal in understanding your non-lucid dreams. As you continue to write in your journal and re-read your previous entries you will begin to see parallels with your dreams and your life. Gradually you will be able to recognize what the symbols in your dreams are really saying to you.

Once lucid in a dream, people can often choose their actions and exert some deliberate control over the dream content. This ability has been utilized in the laboratory to study lucid dreaming and dream psychophysiology. For example, proof that lucid dreams occur in REM sleep was achieved by having subjects give a prearranged distinct signal with deliberate eye movements to mark the points in time when they realized they were dreaming. The dreamers' reports of the eye movements they had made in the dreams corresponded exactly to their physical eye movements as recorded by means of electro-oculograms on a polygraph record. Reports from experiments conducted using eye movement signaling in lucid dreams can be found in the literature (Dane, 1984; Fenwick et al., 1984; Hearne, 1978; LaBerge, Nagel, Dement & Zarcone, 1981; Ogilvie, Hunt, Kushniruk, & Newman, 1983).

What Are The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming?

The scientific study of dreaming and REM sleep

A variety of psychological and recreational applications.

Lucid dreaming can be a powerful tool for overcoming nightmares

In therapy, lucid dreams appear to be promising for providing personal insight, assisting with integration, and as a safe environment for experimentation with new behaviors (LaBerge & Rheingold, 1990).

Many lay people are attracted to lucid dreaming because it offers an outlet for fantasy, an opportunity for adventure unfettered by the laws of physics or society, and free of risk. As such, lucid dreaming is for many a source of creative and inspiring recreation. Anecdotes indicate that lucid dreams are helpful for artistic creativity, problem-solving, and practicing skills for waking life (LaBerge & Rheingold, 1990).

Dreams hold the most vivid mental images attainable by most people. Lucid dreaming is probably the best method for achieving the benefits such as enhancing physical performance, learning, remembering and facilitating healing.
